Cannot update the lobby

Reported by: naboo.ws@… Owned by: -
Priority: trivial Milestone: 0.1 basic functionality
Component: program logic Version: linux
Keywords: lobby update, permissions Cc:

Description

When I try to automatically update the lobby from within it says: "Unable to write to lobby installation directory.
Please update manually or enable write permissions for for the current user."

I have now gone through every folder and file in the spring directory and given all permissions to my own user and not the root, still I get the same error.

How can update it manually?

Btw, this project looks really promising, hope I can soon play it ;)

  • milestone changed from 0.4 the lobby to 0.1 basic functionality

there's actually no lobby-side auto-update on linux. it's unclear to me how you even got this message.
void UpdaterClass::CheckForUpdates?() should only output if your version is up-to-date

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to fixed

the update message doesn't ask to download anymore in linux now
